Biography

2016: McCoy recorded 23 tackles (16 solo and seven assisted) this season… Against SUNY Cortland (9/24/16), McCoy played a role in Dehstin Smart’s amazing interception that aired on SportCenter’s top 10 plays… The ball bounced out of a Cortland player’s back… Then it bounced off of McCoy’s helmet and landed straight in the hands of Smart.  

2015: Played in eight games… Led the team with five interceptions. Recorded 28 tackles, broke up six passes, and forced one fumble… He returned an interception 76 yards to the end zone in a loss against St. John Fisher… 

Personal: Matthew is a 2014 graduate of Vernon-Verona Sherrill High School and the son of Holly and William McCoy … He is currently pursuing a degree in Wellness and Adventure Education.
