Adam Pexton was hired in the Summer of 2016 as an assistant baseball coach and will assist Head Coach Joe Milazzo with all facets of the program. His duties will include scouting, recruiting, practice and game preparation along with day-to-day operations in the office.
Pexton played Varsity Baseball at Utica College for 4 years, from 2012 through 2016. Adam was the Pioneers starting 3rd baseman his sophomore and junior seasons, before moving to 2nd base for his senior season.
Pexton compiled a .289 batting average from his sophomore to senior seasons. He finished second on the team with a .330 average his sophomore season. In 2015, he finished third on the team with a.322 average and earned All-Empire 8 Honors, as the Pioneers recorded 20 wins in a season for the first time in 23 years. During 3 seasons as a starter at 3rd and 2nd base, Pexton recorded a .931 fielding percentage.
Prior to attending Utica College, Pexton was a three year starter at 2nd base for Coach Tom Maggiolino at Whitesboro High School, winning Section III, Class “A” Titles in 2010 and 2011, as well as a NYSPHSAA Final 4 Appearance in 2010. In 2011 he was a member of the New York State Champion Whitestown Post 1113 American Legion Baseball Team, which went on to finish 2nd in the Northeast U.S. Regional. In 2013, he was the MVP of Whitestown Post 1113, leading the team in batting average (.421), hits (40), Runs (25), Doubles (6) and stolen bases (10). From 2014 through 2015, Adam was a member of the Utica Brewers of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Pexton resides in his hometown of Whitesboro, New York and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at Utica College.
