Benjamin Hobaica

Benjamin Hobaica

Benjamin Hobaica was hired in the summer of 2015 as an athletic assistant for the Utica College baseball team.  He will assist Head Coach Joe Milazzo with all facets of the program including scouting, recruiting, practice and game preparation along with day-to-day operations in the office.

Hobaica is a 2015 graduate of Utica College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and was honored Magna Cum Laude.  He was a Deans List honoree all four years (2011-2014). 

A four-year member of the baseball team, Hobaica wrapped up his career second all-time at UC in stolen bases with 52 career stolen bases. 

His senior year, Benjamin was named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week and the College’s Athlete of the Week (3/17/14).

Hobaica helped lead the 2014 Pioneers to one of their best seasons in over 23 years this past season with an overall record of 20-16-1.  The 2014 campaign marked the first 20 win season in over two decades. He played in 32 games while starting 31. He wrapped up his senior campaign leading the team in walks (22), stolen bases (13) and on base percentage (.417), while second in runs (26) and assists (59). 

During his tenure at UC, he played in 116 of 134 games while starting at second base in 112 of those for the Pioneers.

Originally from Clinton, NY, Benjamin currently resides in Utica and is studying for his Master’s degree here at UC.
