Dan Bollana was hired in the Summer of 2013 as the Assistant Baseball Coach and will assist Head Coach Joe Milazzo with practice and game preparation as the pitching and catchers coach. Bollana has been coaching baseball in central New York State for 30+ years at the high school and college level. During games you will find him in the first base coaching box or in the bullpen.
He began his career as the Junior Varsity Coach at Notre Dame High School (Utica, NY) in 1981. After three very successful seasons, he moved on to Head Varsity Coach at John F. Kennedy High School (Utica, NY). During his tenure the Trojans compiled a 60-27 overall record with 2 League Championships.
In 1988, he returned to Notre Dame as a Varsity Assistant handling pitchers and catchers. From 1983 to 1988 Dan was also the Head Coach of the ‘Rome Indians’ which participated in the Northeast Collegiate Baseball League, sponsored by the NCAA and Major League Baseball. His teams qualified for post season play in each of the six seasons.
Bollana accompanied Coach Milazzo to Herkimer County Community College (1990) and then to Mohawk Valley Community College (1991-2002) helping those teams to 4 Mountain Valley Conference Championships, 10 NJCAA Tournament Appearances, 7 Region III Final Four appearances, 2 Region III Championships, and 2 NJCAA Division III World Series appearances.
In 2002, Dan returned to Notre Dame with Milazzo and helped lead the Jugglers baseball program to a New York State Class C Championship and a Section III Class B Championship in consecutive seasons.
He graduated from nearby Thomas R. Proctor High School in 1976 before earning his Associates Degree in Engineering Science from Mohawk Valley Community College (1978) and then attaining his Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Miami (Florida) in 1980.Â
Dan is a New York State licensed Professional Engineer and currently employed as head of the Site Operations Division at the Information Directorate/Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, NY. He lives in Whitesboro, NY with his wife Lynn and their three children: Kristen; Daniel Jr., and Kathleen.
