Sal began his career as Varsity Assistant Coach at Notre Dame High School (Utica, NY). After four seasons, which included three Sectional Championships and a Class C State Championship in 2001, he moved on to coach varsity baseball Waterville High School.
At Waterville, the team made three playoff appearances in three seasons. Sal also Coached summer baseball for twenty seasons as Manager of the Fort Schuyler American Legion Baseball program. The Fort made the playoffs 14 times and captured three Onieda County championships and One District Five crown.
Sal is retired from the United States Postal Service. He lives in Clinton with his wife Theresa, and has three boys Sal, Joe , and Anthony and five grandchildren.
