Coach Murphy joined the Utica University football program in August 2025, ahead of the 2025 season. Murphy stepped into the role of Running Backs Coach with the Pioneers, looking to help the running game keep up its top tier production during the prior few seasons. He also adopted a variety of other key roles with the program, including Administrative Assistant to the Head Coach and JV Special Teams Coordinator.Â
Originally from Chelsea, Michigan, the Chelsea High School graduate spent a few years with western powerhouse Wisconsin Whitewater, before heading to Albion College in Michigan where he graduated in 2025 with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology.Â
