The Springdale, Pennsylvania native graduated from Allegheny College with a double major in Neuroscience and Psychology and a minor in Health Studies in 2017. During his four-year tenure on Allegheny’s football team, he played all five offensive line positions while starting at center and guard.

As Metkler started at Fox Chapel High School, he also joined Pro Football Focus as a Player Participation and All-Blocking (Run) Analyst.
