Tyrese Harris

Harris comes to Utica following a successful stint as the Graduate Assistant for the men’s basketball program at Vermont State University Lyndon during the 2024–25 season. While with the Hornets, he helped guide the team to a North Atlantic Conference playoff berth as the West Division’s No. 3 seed and mentored standout guard Gregory Gonyea, a First Team All-NAC performer and 1,000-point scorer.

A four-year member of the VTSU Lyndon men’s basketball program, Harris served as a four-time team captain and appeared in 105 games with 56 starts. He finished his career with 507 points, 323 assists—the most in program history during the Division III era—along with 365 rebounds and 97 steals. A strong performer on and off the court, he was a three-time North Atlantic Conference All-Academic selection.

Before college, Harris starred at Wiesbaden High School in Germany, where he was a multi-sport standout in basketball and soccer. He earned three All-Region, All-Europe, and All-European Tournament selections, averaging 12.4 points, 8.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 steals for his career. He led his team to a DODEA European Division I Championship Game appearance and two semifinal runs in basketball, while also reaching two semifinals in soccer and earning both First- and Second-Team All-Europe honors along with two All-Tournament selections.

Harris graduated from Vermont State University Lyndon with a degree in Business Administration and minors in Sport Management and Marketing, and recently completed his graduate assistantship with the Hornets.
