Former Pioneer great Jon Ames joined the Utica College coaching staff in the Fall of 2017.
In two seasons at Utica College (2003-2005) Ames totaled 68 points on 34 goals and 34 assists in 53 games.Â
He played alongside Pioneers Hall of Famer Jimmy Sokol and helped guide the Pioneers to the program’s first ECAC Men’s West Conference regular season championship as well as the tournament championship game in his senior season.
A transfer from Division I University of Connecticut, he went on to play professionally in the East Coast Hockey League as well as the Central Hockey League.Â
He was an ECAC West All-Conference honorable mention pick in his senior season and helped guide UC a a 31-15-7 record in two seasons.
