Shawn George was hired as an athletic assistant for the men’s lacrosse team in the spring of 2022. George will serve under Interim Head Coach Justin Patterson and will be responsible for recruiting, scouting, practice and game preparation, along with day-to-day operations in the office.
George comes to Utica after playing lacrosse for Division II Dominican College (NY) before transferring to future Division I and current Division II Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. While at Lindenwood from 2014-17, he served as a captain for his final two seasons while leading the team in ground balls. From 2018-19, George served as an assistant coach at Lindenwood specializing as a defensive coordinator. He also was the head coach of the 7th and 8th grade UPenn Young Quakers.
Prior to his collegiate career, George was a four-year varsity player at Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA and was a four-time Public League champion. He was also an All-Public First Team selection in his junior and senior seasons.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, George currently resides in Utica.
