Zach Bruening

Zach Bruening

Zach Bruening was hired as an athletic assistant for the Utica College men's lacrosse program in the Fall of 2016. He will be responsible for assisting Head Coach Mike Parnell with all facets of the Pioneers’ lacrosse program including scouting, recruiting, practice and game preparation along with day-to-day operations in the office.

A 2016 graduate of Lake Erie College, Zach earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. On the lacrosse field, Zach contributed to a class that was responsible for a 44-19 overall record, two ECAC conference championships and two NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances. Individually, Zach appeared in 49 games recording 54 groundballs and 56 caused turnovers. He also recorded three points in his career on one goal and two assists. 

Prior to Lake Erie, Zach attended Lancaster high school in Lancaster, NY. He was a three year starter on the varsity lacrosse team. He is the son of Kathy and Joe Bruening and he currently resides in Utica, NY where he is pursuing a master’s degree in Financial Crime and Compliance.
