Utica University Head Softball Coach Rinae Olsen announced the hiring of Meaghan Houk as the program's assistant coach in the summer of 2025. Houk will assist Olsen with all facets of the program including scouting, recruiting, practice and game preparations, as well as day-to-day operations.Â
Houk graduated from Bryant University in the spring of 2025 with a B.S. in Health Science and a minor in Management.Â
At Bryant in 2025, Houk appeared and started in 47 games at shortstop for the Bulldogs. She was named to the All-America East First Team after recording 45 hits, nine HRs, 39 RBI, seven doubles, two triples, and a batting average of .349. Her mark of nine HRs led the team last season. She hit .341 in conference with a 1,196 OPS. Houk was also named to the AE All-Tournament Team after hitting three HRs during the AE Tournament, which tied the tournament record. She posted 14 multi-hit games, including a career-high four hits at UMBC, as well as tallying 21 games with an RBI, 11 multi-RBI games, and two games against Maine with four RBIs.Â
Houk made her professional softball debut in the summer of 2025 as a member of the New York Rise, a professional fastpitch team based on Long Island, NY. Houk was named Player of the Game in her professional debut with the team.Â
