Meghan Soja

Meghan Soja was hired in the summer of 2013 as the assistant women’s basketball coach and is entering her third season.  Soja assists head coach Michele Davis with all facets of the program including day-to-day operations, scouting, recruiting, as well as game and practice preparation. 

During her two seasons, she has help guide five All-Conference selections and 18 student-athletes to President’s list status. In 2013-14, the entire team was recognized nationally as the Pioneers ranked 24th in the country on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) Division III Academic Top 25.. The squad compiled a team grade point average of 3.471 in the spring of 2014 to earn a spot on the list for the first time in program-history.

This past season, Soja helped guide standouts Mary Miceli and Bridget Greenwald to their second straight All-Conference team and also into the all-time record books.

Miceli, a second team all-conference pick, led the conference in free throw percentage (.818) and was also first on the team in points (303), 3-point field goals made (37), free throws made (90), and led the team in assists (48). She also finished the season with 112 rebounds and tied for first on the team with 45 steals. She will head into her senior season ranked fourth all-time at UC with 120 career 3-pointers.  She also ranks 13th all-time with 917 career points.

Greenwald, who was an all-conference honorable mention pick, finished the season first on the team and third in the conference in total rebounds (229). She was also tied for first with 45 steals and was second on the team in free throws made (63). She finished her career at UC with 805 rebounds, which ranks fifth all-time, and 732 career points.
 
She is a 2012 graduate of St. John Fisher College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Management, with a concentration in marketing, and a minor in accounting.  She was also a four-year letter winner on the women’s basketball team and served as team captain during her senior campaign.  Soja racked up 817 points and 538 rebounds in 107 games for the Cardinals.  Prior to attending St. John Fisher, Soja was a standout at nearby Whiteboro high school. 

Meghan currently resides in Utica and is pursuing her master’s degree at UC.
