Josh Graser was hired as the assistant women’s hockey coach in the fall of 2020.  Graser will assist head coach Dave Clausen in all facets of the program, including day-to-day operations, scouting, and recruiting, as well as game and practice preparation, and film breakdown.

“We’re really excited to have Josh join our staff,” said Clausen, who is entering his 20th season as the bench boss of the Pioneers.  “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience not only at the Division I level, but internationally as well.  I’m confident that he will be a good fit for our program and help us compete for a conference championship.”

Graser comes to Utica after spending the last two seasons at Division I Colgate University as an assistant coach and Director of Hockey Operations.  The Raiders captured 40 wins and a pair of ECAC Tournament appearances while Graser was with the team.  Prior to Colgate, Graser had stops at the University of Vermont and Canisius College.

Graser served as a video coach for the US Women’s National Under-18 team during the 2020 U18 Women’s World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he helped team USA bring home the gold medal.  He has also worked a number of camps, including the 16/17 USA Hockey Development Camp, Syracuse Optimal Hockey Development Camp, Kent State Multi District Camp, and Colgate Hockey Camps.

Graser is a 2015 graduate of SUNY Cortland, earning his degree in Sport Management.  He also suited up for the Red Dragons’ ACHA Ice Hockey team, where he served as captain and Vice President.  Originally from Buffalo, NY, Graser currently resides in Hamilton.
