Colleen Ventura

Colleen Ventura was hired in the summer of 2013 as an athletic assistant for the Utica College women’s lacrosse program.  She will assist Head Coach Kristin St. Hilaire with all facets of the program including day-to-day operations of the office, recruiting, scouting as well as practice and game preparation.

Ventura brings a wealth of experience to the Pioneers, including film and game-tape exchange through working with HUDL, recruiting experience using Front Rush software, strong knowledge of budget management and schedule preparation, along with practice planning and implementing fitness training programs.

Colleen comes to Utica after a recent stint at Oberlin College where she was hired in late January as the assistant women’s lacrosse coach and later promoted to acting Head Coach in April, 2013.  Prior to Oberlin, she was a certified Fitness Trainer and Nike Brand Coordinator for Dick’s Sporting Goods in Syracuse, NY from 2011-2013.

From 2011-2012, Ventura was the Head Coach of the junior varsity women’s lacrosse and volleyball teams at the Christian Brother Academy in Dewitt, NY.

She is a 2011 graduate of Oswego State University where she earned a degree in Wellness Management with minors in coaching and health science. Colleen served as team captain and was a SUNYAC All-Conference honoree in 2008.  She started all 33 games in her junior and senior years and 52 total games over her four-year career.  She tallied 50 career points on 39 goals and 11 assists to go along with 78 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers as a Laker. In 2008, her all-conference campaign, Ventura posted an impressive 27 points on 21 scores and six assists as well as 20 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.

Originally from Lafayette, NY, Colleen is currently residing in Utica, NY where she is pursuing her Master’s Degree at UC.
