Utica, NY (9/18/12)- Sophomore Louise Steele–Norton of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.

The Avondale, PA native scored three goals in the Pioneers’ 7-0 shutout win over cross-town rival Hamilton College on Wednesday.  On Saturday, she followed that up by netting a goal in Utica’s 3-2 loss to Empire 8 rival Stevens Institute of Technology.

Steele-Norton currently has six goals for 12 points over the first five games of the season. She is tied for second place in the Empire 8 in scoring.  She also leads the conference with 31 shots on goal. 

The Pioneers are currently 5-1 on the season and return to action on Wednesday, Sept 19 at 4 p.m. against SUNY Geneseo at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
