Utica, NY (9/29/14) – Senior forward Louise Steele-Norton of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her performance against Houghton.

Steele-Norton’s accomplishments consist of a goal and two assists while starting her sixth straight game. Her first assist came in the 12th minute when she connected with Chasity Eckert for the Pioneers second goal of the game. In the 30th minute Steele-Norton scored her seventh goal of the season to give the Pioneers a 4-0 lead. 18 minutes later she combined with Hannah Mackey for the Pioneers fifth goal.

Steele-Norton has scored in all but one match this season and has brought her total to seven goals in eight games. In the Empire 8 Conference she is tied for seventh in points (17) and is averaging 2.13 points per game. She is the program’s all-time leader with 67 career goals, and she is second all-time with 145 career points. 

The Pioneers return to action Wednesday when they host non-conference rival Hamilton College. They game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
