UTICA, NY - Senior forward Jessica Berry (Rome, NY/ Rome Free Academy) of the Utica College women’s basketball team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 13th. Berry became the 11th player in Division III women’s basketball history to score 2,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds in a career this past week.

Berry led Utica to a 2-1 record after victories over Hartwick College and Alfred University. Their only loss came at the hands of second-place St. John Fisher, 82-79, Saturday afternoon.
 
Berry averaged 23.3 points over the week while recording 12 rebounds per contest. She now has a school-record 2,013 points to go along with 1,033 career rebounds.
 
Utica is now fourth place in the conference with an 8-5 record in the Empire 8, including a 12-10 ledger overall. Despite the loss, the Pioneers have clinched their seventh consecutive bid to the Empire 8 Conference Tournament.
 
Utica returns to action on Tuesday night when it travels to Elmira College for a conference contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
