UTICA, NY- Junior women’s basketball player Ashelyne Babb was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after dominate performances in the Pioneers’ three games last week.
            Babb averaged 18.0 points and 5.5 assists per game in the three contests. She led the Pioneer’s to victories in all three games last week to give them a winning record in conference play on the season. Her standout performance came against Alfred University at home Tuesday as she tallied 25 points, seven assists, and seven steals.
            On the season, Babb is shining in the Empire 8 leaderboard. She ranks first in the conference with 3.3 steals a game and ranks first in assists with 4.4 per game. She also ranks ninth in the conference with an average of 12.7 points per game.         
            The three victories last week brings the Pioneers’ record to 5-9 on the season as they return to the court Tuesday to take on St. John Fisher College at 6 p.m. The Pioneers currently sit in fourth place in the conference standings with a 3-2 record in Empire 8 play.
