UTICA, NY — Utica College freshman Josh Kienz of the men’s golf team was named the UC Male Athlete of the Week after being awarded Empire 8 Rookie of the Year honors.

At the 2018 Empire 8 Conference Championships at Hershey Country Club, he carded nine pars and a birdie and posted a 40 on each side as he climbed six spots on the final day and finished in third place with a two day total of 160 (80, 80).

At the Keuka Invitational on April 11, the Newburgh native completed the round with a tally of 87 strokes, finishing the invitational in a three-way tie for 19th place. His efforts helped the Pioneers place no lower than 6th place all season.

Josh and the UC men’s golf team will travel to Elmira College for the Elmira College Spring Invitational on Tuesday April 24.
