Utica, NY – Katlyn Scarpinella of the Utica College women’s lacrosse team has been chosen as the UC Female Athlete of the Week for her performance in the team’s season opener on Saturday.
 
After her season being cut short last year, due to injury, Scarpinella made her return to the field in great fashion against Morrisville to open the season at home. The senior midfielder helped lead the Pioneers to a 14-3 victory at home to begin the year with a win. Katlyn finished with five points, scoring two goals and making three assists.
 
The Pioneers have now won three consecutive season openers, and will be on the road Wednesday to take on SUNY Poly at 3 p.m.
