Utica, NY - Senior Kyle Swiecki of the Utica College men's track & field team has been named UC Male Athlete of the Week for his impressive outing this past weekend at the Blue and Orange Invitational and multi.

The 2019 NCAA qualifier continued to build towards qualifying for the national championships for a second straight season as he set a new season best in the Heptathlon in his second multi competition of the season. Swiecki placed in second with a total of 4,574 points. He was in the top three competitors in six out of seven events in total, including a tie for the win in the high jump at 1.87 meters. He ran a time of 8.73 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles for his largest point total of the competition of 806 points. Swiecki is sixteenth in the nation.

The Utica College track & field team returns to action this Friday and Saturday for the Valentine Invite at Boston University.
