UC WOMEN'S HOCKEY BEATS CROSS-TOWN RIVAL HAMILTON 4-3

UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's ice hockey defeated cross-town rival Hamilton College 4-3 Thursday night in non-conference action at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

The Pioneers would score three second period goals after falling behind 2-0 after the first period. Kelli Vossler (Saranac Lake, NY/), Stephanie Price (River Rouge, MI/), and Jill Nolan (Labrador, Newfoundland/) each scored in the second period. Price, Andrea Maxon (Canton, NY/Hugh C. Williams), Jessica Leclerc (Augusta, ME/), and Deanna Wiegand (Utica, MI/) each had assists in the second period.

Hamilton would tie the score at 3-3 just under six minutes into the third period before Wiegand scored the game winning goal with under five minutes to play. Mandy Finkle (Milford, MI/) and Nolan assisted Wiegand's goal.

Alex Talbott (Rochester, NY/) had 14 saves on the night.

With the win, the Pioneers improve their record to 5-1-1, 3-1-1 ECAC West. The Pioneers return to action Saturday, December 30th when they will participate in the St. Michael's Tournament
