The Utica College women's tennis team lost to visiting Empire 8 Conference rival Ithaca College 9-0 Wednesday against the undefeated Bombers.
Freshman Jessica Jirp won two games in her singles competition (6-1,6-1), senior Juanita Fuentes (Proctor/Utica) (6-0,6-1) and senior Mercy Tomy (Notre Dame/New Hartford) (6-1,6-0) each took one game as well.
Ithaca has now won 24 straight matches against Empire 8 opponents, a conference record.
The Pioneers travel to face St. John Fisher College on Sept. 28 and will be looking for their first win. St. John Fisher is 1-3 in Empire 8 competition.
