SNYDER'S PUT BACK WITH TWO SECONDS LEFT LIFTS PIONEERS PAST ONEONTA

Senior forward Jessica Snyder (Elbridge, NY) put back her offensive rebound with 2.3 seconds to play, and gave Utica College the 58-56 win over Oneonta State Saturday afternoon. It was Snyder's only basket of the game, but it could not have been any more important, as it improved the Pioneers record to 6-2 on the season.
With 1:03 to play in the game, junior guard Stephanie Nara (Frederick, MD) grabbed an offensive rebound, which allowed junior forward Jessica Berry (Rome, NY) to score, tying the game 56-56. Snyder's game winning put back a minute later sealed the victory.
Junior guard Devon Croll (Vernon, NY) led all scorers with 21 points. She shot 7-for-14 from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Berry scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while freshman guard Danielle Busansky (Millersville, PA) had 12 points and a team-high five assists. Nara grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Oneonta sophomore Samantha Szkotak (New York Mills, NY) led the team with 11 points and seven rebounds. The loss drops their record to 3-4 on the season.
The Pioneers will play host to Union College this Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Clark Athletic Center.
