LECLERC EARNS ALL-CONFERENCE FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR

UTICA, NY (March 6, 2009) – Senior captain Jessica Leclerc (Deerfield Academy/Augusta, ME) of the Utica College women's hockey team earned 2008-09 ECAC Women's West All-Conference honorable mention Thursday. The honor marks the third straight season Leclerc has earned all-conference recognition.

In 26 games this season the all conference defenseman totaled 12 points on two goals and 10 assists. She also helped the Pioneer net minders compile a program-best seven shot outs and a 1.97 goals against average. She ranked fifth on the team in conference scoring with nine points on one goal and eight assists in 18 games against ECAC Women's West opponents. She also ranked second on the team with 15 penalties.

In three full seasons Leclerc, a Division I Maine University transfer, played in every single game (79) for Utica. She tallied 44 career points on eight goals and 36 assists. She guided UC to 50 wins over the past three seasons, including three consecutive appearances in the conference tournament. The Pioneers have posted 14 shut outs with the two-year captain on the defensive end. She was named to the all-conference second team in her sophomore and junior campaigns.

This past season UC posted a 14-10-2 overall record and made an appearance in the conference tournament for the eighth consecutive season.
