WOMEN'S HOCKEY COMPLETES SEASON SWEEP OF WILLIAMS

Junior forward Lynny Gonzales netted her team-high seventh goal of the season midway through the first period of play and that would be all the scoring senior goalie Jill Doherty would need as the Pioneers shut out visiting Williams College 1-0 Wednesday night. Doherty stopped all 26 shots she faced in her tenth career shutout. Darcy Hier and Samantha Glockling each added an assist on the Pioneers lone goal of the contest.

The Pioneers improved to 8-5-2, including a 2-0 record against Williams this year after defeating the Ephs 2-1 on Dec. 12. Williams dropped to 4-5-1 overall.

Gonzales's even strength goal went through the five hole of Eph's goalie Sara Plunkett at the 11:50 mark of the first period. Plunkett finished the day with 24 saves.

Williams outshot Utica 26-25 on the day. Utica went 0-for-5 on the power play, while Williams went 0-for-2 with a one skater advantage.

The Pioneers return to ECAC Women's West Conference play on Tuesday when they host Neumann University at 4 p.m. Williams travels to St. Anselm on Saturday at 3 p.m.
