WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS AT ELMIRA

ELMIRA, N.Y. (10/20/10) – The Utica College women's soccer team's playoff hopes came to an end Wednesday evening after a 7-0 loss to host Elmira College. The Pioneers' (2-9-2) Jaime Hillman (Hornell, NY/Hornell) made six saves in her first appearance in net this season.

Elmira (3-10-1) out shot Utica 24-14 on the day and earned a 7-2 corner kick advantage. Freshman Alyssa Upson (Frankfort, NY/Whitesboro) led the way for Utica with three shots, while Cheyenne Chrzanowski (Lee Center, NY/Rome Free Academy), Sarah Southwell (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), Amber Comeau (Medford, MA/Arlington Catholic) and Jill Benoit (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) each totaled two shots.

Five different players scored for the Soaring Eagles, including three goals in a span of 4:19 in the second half.

UC returns to action next Wednesday when the Pioneers host Union College for a non conference contest at 7 p.m. Utica's final two games of the season will be played on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
