Utica, N.Y. (10/30/2010) – Freshman Laura Burgstrom netted the game-winner in overtime to lift visiting St. John Fisher to a 1-0 victory over host Utica College on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium Saturday. Burgstrom's game-winner was from 15 yards out off a free kick just 2:36 into overtime. The contest marks the end of the 2010 campaign for both squads.

Utica closed out the season with a 2-11-2 overall record including a 1-5-2 mark in Empire 8 Conference play. The Cardinals wrapped up their year with a 6-10-2 overall record and a 3-4-1 ledger in the E8.

It was a hard fought contest the entire way with Fisher earning a 12-9 shot advantage, but the Pioneers won the corner kick battle, 5-4. Freshman goalie Jocelyn Rivera (Yonkers, NY /Gorton) stopped three shots on the day, while Fisher's Jessica Plukas recorded five saves.

The contest marked the final game in the storied careers of Utica senior's Emily Young (Lowville, NY/Lowville), Cheyenne Chrzanowski (Lee Center, NY/Rome Free Academy), Lindsay Curley (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) and Amber Comeau (Medford, MA/Arlington Catholic).
