UC LOSES 9-0 TO SAXONS IN WOMEN'S TENNIS SATURDAY

The Utica College women's tennis team was defeated, 9-0, Saturday by conference foe Alfred University at William T. Brown Tennis Courts in Alfred, NY. The Pioneers are now 0-7 overall this season, including a 0-7 mark in the Empire 8, while the Saxons improve to 4-8 overall with a 2-6 record in the conference.

In singles competition, sophomore Carlene Bracci (Delhi, NY/Delaware) lost to Alfred's Autumn McLain in two sets (6-4, 6-0).
Bracci partnered up with Jennifer Persio (Cheshire, CT/Tilton ) in doubles competition only to lose to Alfred's Griffin Currie and Autumn McLain 8-4.

The Pioneers return to action Sunday as they travel to Rochester, NY to challenge Nazareth College in the last conference match of the season for UC. The Golden Flyers are currently 4-4 overall and 4-2 in the Empire 8.
