The Utica College men's lacrosse team defeated the visiting Medaille Mavericks 15-7 Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers were led by seniors
Mike Bulger (Watertown, NY) who netted five goals on top of two assists and
Michael Brodhead (Cicero, NY) who tallied four points.
UC started its offense at 12:48 in the first period by Kevin Conway, who scored his sixth goal of the season off an assist from
Ben Winkler (Rodman, NY). In the second period the Pioneers benefited from performances from Bulger, who had a goal and an assist and senior Andrew Waite who dished out two assists in the period. UC would enter halftime with a 9-3 advantage.
In the third, the Pioneers would maintain their controling lead as Bulger scored his 25th goal of the season off an assist from junior
Michael Schepis (Watertown, NY). Utica ended the third period with Broadhead scoring his 14th and 15th goals of the season as they went into the fourth with a 15-4 lead.
Medaille would make a comeback in the fourth period scoring three goals as John Henry Jackson netted a goal and had an assist. The Mavericks comeback attempt would not be enough as the Pioneers would go on to win 15-7.

Travis Wright (Watertown, NY) earned his second win of the year as he recorded ten saves off 31 shots.
Utica College improves to 2-7 on the season as Medaille falls to 3-5 overall.
The Pioneers return to action this Wednesday as they face host Ithaca College at Upper Terrace field. Ithaca is currently 3-7 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 Conference. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
