The Utica College women's soccer team lost a non conference contest against visiting RPI, 6-1, on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium Saturday night. Utica senior
Amber Comeau (Medford, MA/Arlington Catholic) scored just 27 seconds into the contest off an assist from
Sarah Southwell (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) but that was the only lead of the day for Utica as the Engineers went on to score six straight unanswered goals.
Sarah Rothschild netted a hat-trick for RPI, while Shannon Maguire added two goals of her own. Lauren Brumbaugh totaled one goal and assisted on two others to pace the Engineers.
The Pioneers have now lost three straight and fell to 1-5 on the year.
Stephanie Simonds (Sidney, NY/Sidney) and
Jocelyn Rivera (Yonkers, NY /Gorton) combined for 13 saves in net for Utica.
UC returns to action at home next Sunday when the Pioneers take on Alfred University in conference play at 1 p.m.
