UC SWIM AND DIVE TEAMS LOSE TO HOST CLARKSON

Results

Utica, NY - The Utica College swim and dive teams (2-6) lost to host Clarkson University (3-3) Saturday at Fuller Pool.  The men lost 111-70, while the women by a score of 109-58.  Freshmen speedster Tyler Evans (Rome, NY/Holland Patent) continued his hot streak winning both of his events.

Evans recorded a final time of 57.38 in the 100 meter freestyle and in the 400 meter freestyle his final time was 5:07.26.  He now a team-high nine wins and has won four consecutive.

Senior Paul Cabrey (Allentown, PA/William Allen) tallied a second place finish in the 50 meter freestyle falling short of a victory by less than half a second. Cabrey took third in the 100 meter freestyle as well.

For the women, senior Kristyn Galbraith (Ballston, NY/Ballston Spa) registered 12 total points, including a win in the 200 meter breaststroke with a final time of 3:05.10. She also placed third in the 200 meter medley with a final time of 2:52.73.

Sophomore Michelle Allen (Canton, MA/Canton) finished second in both events she competed in with final times of 2:30.43 (200m freestyle) and 2:48.90 (200m backstroke).

UC returns to action Saturday as they host Nazareth College in its last meet of the regular season.  The meet will be held at The Utica College Pool and is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
