Utica, NY (10-1-11) - The Utica College men's golf team placed 10th as they shot a 368, as a four man team, Saturday iat the 2011 ECAC Division III Upstae Golf Championships at Blue Heron Hills Country Club in Rochester, NY.   The final round was rained out so the day one results were final

Junior John Gaspa (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) struck a team-low 84 as he tied for 22nd overall to lead the Pioneers in despite the steady rainfall throughout the afternoon.

Sophomore Mike Reilly (Colton, NY /Colton Pierrepont) followed up with an 87, good enough for a tie for 33rd.

St. John Fisher continued their solid season as they won shooting a 304 as the tournament host.  E8 rival Elmira took second with a team total of 315, and non-conference foe St. Lawrence finished in third with a 335. 

NYU and Clarkson tied for fourth place as threy both finished with a 338. Oswego Statecarded a 345 cto take sixth place and three teams tied for seventh with a 346, Stevens, Hobart and Potsdam.

Following this weekend, UC wraps up its 2011 Fall season at the Hamilton College Invite next weekend.  The two day tournament will be held at the Yahnundasis Colf Country Club on Saturday and Skenendoa GOlf Club on Sunday.
