Stevens 9, Utica 0 Box Score

Utica, NY (10-1-11) - The Utica College women's tennis team lost 9-0 Saturday as they hosted Stevens Institute of Technology at the Turning Stone Tennis Courts.

Utica's No. 1 junior Jennifer Persio (Cheshire, CT/Tilton ), of Cheshire, CT, battled Steven's No. 1 Lisa Tessitore however fell short losing 7-6 and 6-0. 

Persio teamed up with sophomore Cailee McWilliams (Sherrill, NY/VVS) in doubles competition but the Duck's Tessitore and Jessica Bourque proved to be too much as they were defteated 8-1.

The Ducks remain undefeated at 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Empire 8 while UC falls to 0-7 overall as well as 0-5 in conference play.

The Pioneers return to action Wednesday as they challenge cross-town rival Mohawk Valley  Community College in the first of a three game home stand at The Utica College Tennis Courts.  Wednesday's match s scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

UC wraps up the Fall 2011 season this weekend as they prepare to host conference rivals Alfred University and Nazareth College on Saturday and Sunday.  Both matches are set to begin at 1p.m.
