PATTERSON NAMED TO D3HOOPS.COM ALL-EAST REGION TEAM

Patterson is the 13th player in school-history to score over 1,000 points
Utica, N.Y. (3/22/2011) – Senior guard James Patterson (Poughkeepsie, NY/Poughkeepsie) of the Utica College men's basketball team was named to the D3hoops.com Division III Men's All-East Region Second Team. This is Patterson's second award of the year, after being named to an Empire 8 All-Conference First Team selection.

Patterson became the 13th player in school-history to score over 1,000 points in his career, and he finished his senior campaign with 1,227 points, which ranks fifth on the College's all-time list.

Patterson started all 24 games for UC, while averaging 35.1 minutes per game, which led the team. He also ranked first in the Empire 8 in scoring (18.3 points per game) and steals (2.79 per game). He ranked second in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.457) and third in the conference in assists (4.21 per game). Patterson also brought down 107 rebounds (4.5 per game).

Patterson scored a season-high 32 points in a 94-89 victory over Ithaca on Feb. 5. Ten days later he put up 31 points in a 57-55 win over Elmira on Feb. 15. In his final game at the Clark Athletic Center, he nailed the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired to lift the Pioneers to a 76-75 victory over RIT. Utica finished the season with a 13-11 overall record.
