Utica, NY (9-11-11) – The Utica College women's tennis team lost 9-0 to St. John Fisher College Sunday at the Utica College Tennis Courts.
The Pioneers fall to 0-2 overall as well 0-2 in the Empire 8 Conference, while the Cardinals improved to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in E8 play.

Jennifer Persio (Cheshire, CT/Tilton ) competed against St. John Fisher's No. 1 Elena Vahl, however Persio lost 6-4 and 6-2. Persio teamed up with freshman
Christine Andre (South River, NJ/Rutgers Preparatory School) in doubles competition, but fell 8-2 against Vahl and Marissa Rotundo.
The Pioneers return to the courts Wednesday as they host non-conference rival Union College at the UC Tennis Courts. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
