Hartwick 9, Utica 0 - Box Score

Utica, N.Y. (9/23/2011) - The Utica College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision against host Hartwick College Saturday afternoon.  The tandem of Jennifer Persio (Cheshire, CT/Tilton ) and Cailee McWilliams (Sherrill, NY/VVS) made it close in first doubles, scoring a season-high six points, but the Pioneers could not must the victory, falling 8-6 to the Hawk's Courtney Hinds and Kim Willet. 

Persio lost 6-0, 6-1 in first singles, while sophomore Elise Pape (New York Mills, NY/Holland Patent) lost 6-0, 6-1 in fifth singles.  UC's Nives Vujanic (Utica, NY/T.R. Proctor) lost 6-0, 6-1 in sixth singles against  Kristen Napolitano. 

The Pioneers (0-5) remain on the road for the second straight contest on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. when they travel to Ithaca to take on the Bombers (4-0) in an Empire 8 Conference contest.
