Utica, NY (10/11/12)- The Utica College women's soccer team hits the road Saturday as it travels to Hoboken, NJ for a conference match up against Stevens Institute of Technology.  Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Last Time Out: Utica is coming off a 4-3 loss to St. John Fisher on Saturday and a 5-0 loss at Nazareth Sunday… Junior Sarah Southwell (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) has two goals on the weekend, while Senior Marisa Hotaling totaled 26 saves in just over 105 minutes of work.

Where We Sit: The Pioneers opened the season with a 6-1 record and one of the best starts in recent years… Since then, Utica has dropped five straight… UC is currently 6-6 overall and 0-5 in the Empire 8.

Spohler Amongst National Leaders: Senior Samantha Spohler (East Durham, NY/Cairo Durham) is tied for third in the nation with six game-winning goals… All of her tallies on the year have been game-winners… She leads the team with six goals and 14 points.

Helping Out:  Ten different Pioneers have scored at least one goal this season… Southwell is second on the team with 12 points (four goals, four assists) while classmate Samantha Matthews (Valley Falls, NY/Tamarac) has six points this year.

Scouting Stevens: The Ducks are 8-4 overall and 3-2 in the Empire 8… They are coming off a weekend split as they lost to Houghton 5-1 on Saturday, before rebounding to beat Alfred 5-0 on Sunday… Stevens is led by Ann Heine and Carly Bean… Heine has seven goals and two assists, while Bean has six goals and three assists… UC lost to Steven's 3-0 last year… The Pioneers have not beaten Steven's in the five times the teams have met.

Looking Ahead: The Pioneers return to action Wednesday as they host nationally ranked No. four Ithaca College.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
