Utica, NY (12/10/12)- The Utica College women's basketball team travels to Union College, Tuesday for its last game before the winter break.  Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Last Time Out: Utica is coming off a 59-53 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday… Senior Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping) (17 points, 15 rebounds) and junior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) (ten points, 12 rebounds) each recorded a double-double to lead the Pioneers… Sophomore Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) also added ten points for UC.

Where We Sit: Utica is 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the Empire 8 Conference… UC is currently fourth in the E8 standings after one week of conference play… The Pioneers have outscored opponents 464-450 over the first eight games. 

Fiore Adds to Résumé: Senior Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping), who recently moved into sixth place on the College's all-time scoring list, became just the sixth player in program history to record over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career… She joins the elite company of Sharon Lyke '85, Jessica Berry '11, Bernice Wesley '90, Ava Thomas '07 and Kristen Ferraraccio '93 to achieve the feat… She leads the team with 124 points on the season and currently has 1,237 career points.

Greenwald Doubling Up: Junior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) is averaging nearly a double-double per game… She currently has 9.9 points and a league-best 11.3 boards per contest… Greenwald is coming off her third double-double of the season and second in as many games.

Miceli Fresh on the Court: Freshman Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) is third on the squad with 60 points… She has averaged 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds through eight games so far… She has also hit seven 3-pointers.

Stay With Stayer: Sophomore Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) has added a spark on both ends of the court this season… She is averaging 7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds this season… Stayer is fourth on the team with 58 points and has sunk 14-of-17 free throws.

Filkins Finding a Way: Junior Alyssa Filkins (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) is averaging five points and 4.8 assists per game… She leads the team with 38 dishes on the year and has played a team-high 254 minutes.

Scouting Union: The Dutchwomen are 5-3 overall (2-0 Liberty League) and are coming off a 60-57 win over RIT and 63-51 a victory over William Smith last weekend… Union is led by sophomore Kate Thompson and senior Shayla Madden… Thompson has 102 points and 70 rebounds on the season, while Madden has 97 points and 40 boards… Utica is 3-4 against Union in the last seven years… Last year the Pioneers fell 63-39 at home… Fiore had 15 points and eight rebounds… The last time Utica defeated the Dutchwomen, was a 60-40 victory on Dec. 15, 2010.

Looking Ahead: The Pioneers return to action after nearly a three-week break on Saturday, Dec. 29 as they head to Madison, NJ to take on Drew University… Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
