Utica, NY (5-1-12) - The Utica College baseball team heads to Keuka Park, NY Wednesday for an afternoon double header against Keuka College.

The Pioneers: UC presently holds an overall record of 8-26 and is 2-12 in the Empire 8 Conference…  After winning four of their last six games, Utica dropped four games to St. John Fisher this past weekend at home… Sunday's first game resumed in the 10th inning in a 3-3 tie from the April, 1st game that was called due to rain.

UC Offense: In 36 games this season, the Pioneers have a recorded a team average of .262 while scoring 176 runs and stealing 77 bases…  Leading the way is junior first baseman Nick Dunbar (Granville, NY/Granville) who currently has a team-best .345 batting average along 39 hits, 31 RBI and two home runs…  Sophomore Alec Choleva (Coventry, CT/East Catholic) has started all 35 games this year while leading the team in at bats (120), runs scored (25) and is second in hits (34), RBI (18) and stolen bases (nine).

Freshman Bats: Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ), currently out due to an ankle injury, was batting .333 (15-for-45) in 15 games with seven runs scored and four RBI… Dylan Leggett (Milton, VT/Milton High School), who pitches and plays outfield, has registered a .296 (8-for-27) average at the plate in 15 games…  Nick Perkins (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) has posted an average of .280 at the dish along with 11 runs scored, five RBI and nine stolen bases in 22 games.

On the Mound: Sophomore Chris Jeffers (Albany, NY/Bishop Maginn) and classmate Alec Choleva (Coventry, CT/East Catholic) currently lead the rotation in wins and innings pitched… Jeffers is 3-4 with an ERA of 7.36 and 15 strikeouts in 47.2 innings while Choleva is 2-4 with a 3.81 ERA and a team-high 37 strikeouts in 52 innings… Junior Chris Podlucky (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) along with freshman Sean McNeil (Riverside, NJ/), Vincent Burillo (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central ) and Nick Perkins (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) have each recorded wins as well for UC.

Meet the Storm: Keuka College has only won two games all season and have lost 19 straight… The Storm are 2-22 overall with a NEAC record of 2-12…  KC's wins came by one run (9-8/7-6) early in the season against Lancaster Bible.

Back in Action: The Pioneers return to the diamond this weekend as they wrap up their season on the road against Ithaca College…  The Bombers are currently 22-8-1 including an 11-4 mark in the E8.
