Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy) each had two shots on goal for UC.

Smith Shutting the Door: Junior
Caitlyn Smith (Waterville, NY/Madison) has been rock solid in net for the Pioneers… The Waterville, NY native ranks among the top three in the conference in save percentage (.875), saves (56), and goals against average (.97)… She also has four shutouts on the year.
Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles are 2-5-1 overall and 1-1 in the E8… They are coming off a 3-1 loss to RPI on Sunday… Elmira has scored eight goals on the season… Junior Emily Karpinski leads the team with three goals and one assist.
Against EC: Elmira holds a 6-4 advantage over UC in heads up play… The last time the Pioneers defeated EC was 2009, when Utica captured a 3-2 victory at home.
Looking Ahead: Following this, the Pioneers travel to Houghton to take on new Empire 8 member, Houghton Highlanders… Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
