Around the E8: Stevens sits atop the conference standings with a 12-1 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in the league… Nazareth (11-4 overall) and Ithaca (9-4 overall) are tied for second with identical 4-1 records in the Empire 8… St. John Fisher sits in the fourth spot (9-7 overall, 4-3 E8), while Utica (5-11, 2-4 E8) rounds out the top five… Alfred (3-10) and Elmira (3-12) share the sixth spot, going 1-4 in conference so far, and Hartwick (7-6, 0-3 Empire 8) rounds out the field.
Leading the Way: Junior Connor Maisch leads the team with 250 points on the season… He is averaging 5.6 boards per game and his 47.7 three-point percentage ranks third in the E8… Classmate
Chris Jeffers (Albany, NY/Bishop Maginn) is second on the team with 11.4 points per game and second in the conference averaging 9.0 rebounds per contest… Sophomore

Jeff Ward (Ossining, NY/Ossining High School)'s 1.2 blocks per game rank fourth.
Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles are 3-12 overall and 1-4 in the Empire 8… They are coming off a 72-66 upset win over Ithaca on Tuesday… Elmira also has wins over Oberlin College and Houghton College… EC is led by junior Chris Cassidy, who ranks third in the conference, averaging 16.9 points per game.
Against the Soaring Eagles: Utica is 13-1 against Elmira dating back to the 2005-2006 season… Last year, the Pioneers won both meetings between the teams, 76-69 and 71-68…
Matt Baldwin (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) combined for 37 points in the series… The last time Elmira beat UC was a 72-58 victory on Feb. 21, 2010 at the Clark Athletic Center.
