Utica, NY (10/24/13) - The Utica College women's soccer team looks to snap a two game slide on Saturday as it hosts Empire 8 Conference rival Nazareth College on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.  The contest will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports, marking the first time in school-history that the UC women's soccer team will play at home on television.

FACE TIME:  The women's soccer game will be broadcast in Albany (Channel 1), Buffalo (Channel 87), Rochester (Channel 98), Syracuse (Channel 323) and New York City (199) … It marks the first time that Time Warner will televise a women's soccer contest in school-history… Utica College football is 3-0 on Time Warner… Utica College hockey won last season in the Teddy Bear Toss Game on Time Warner.

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers dropped their second consecutive game Sunday afternoon as they fell to local rival, Hamilton College, 4-0 … Freshman Jamie Enders (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) had a game-high 12 saves for UC.

ENDERS STANDING OUT: Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Enders (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) has kept the Pioneers in games with her outstanding play all year… Enders ranks first in the Empire 8 conference with 8.13 saves per game… She has a goals against average of 2.32 and has recorded one shutout on the season.

LOCAL GIRL: Senior forward Sarah Southwell (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), from nearby Rome, NY, ranks second on the team with nine points this season…  Southwell is tied with Alana Fitzpatrick (Cheshire, CT/Holy Cross) for the team-lead with four goals and she also has one assist… Over the course of four seasons at UC, Southwell has 14 goals and 11 assists… She is the College's active career scoring leader with 39 points.

FITZPATRICK FITTING IN: Junior Alana Fitzpatrick (Cheshire, CT/Holy Cross) transferred to Utica from Division I Stony Brook last spring… She currently leads the team with ten points on four goals and two assists … Fitpatrick recorded a hat-trick in the first game of the season against SUNY Cobleskill.

SEASON TO DATE: UC is currently 3-10-2 overall, with four of those losses coming by two goals or less…  Utica's lone conference victory of the season came against Alfred University on October 13th … Sarah Southwell (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and Krystine Alvear (Ossining, NY/Ossining) netted goals to pace the Pioneers to the victory … UC is 1-3 at home this season.

SCOUTING NAZ: Nazareth College comes to Utica with a 9-4-2 record and a 5-1 mark in Empire 8 conference play… Last time out, Nazareth beat St. John Fisher 3-0 with three second half goals… Olivia Derleth leads the Golden Flyers with eight goals on the year… Elizabeth Howell has registered eight points on the season… Nazareth sports two starting goalies in Abbie Carey and Bethany Novak… Both goalies rank in the top five in save percentage in the Empire 8.

BEEN A WHILE: The last time UC beat Nazareth was back in September of 2006, by the score of 2-0… In 2006, Head Coach Claire McLain led UC to its first-ever Empire 8 Conference Championship finals… UC was within one victory of an NCAA Tournament berth.

NEXT TIME OUT: The Pioneers will honor their seniors in the final regular season home game of the season next Saturday as UC takes on Bard College at 4 p.m.
