Women's Hockey Places 2 on All-Conference List; Clausen Named Co-Coach of the Year.

Utica, NY (2/23/13)- Three members of the Utica College women's hockey team were named to the ECAC West All-conference teams, Including Head Coach Dave Clausen, who was named the Conference's Co-Coach of the Year.

Junior Megan Myers (Las Vegas, NV/LA Selects), who is making her second consecutive appearance on the First Team list, currently leads the team and ranks third in the conference with 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists).  She recently scored her 55th career goal, to surpass All-American Stephanie Price '07 for second on the College's career goal-scoring list.  She has tallied at least 30 points in each of her first three seasons and ranks third on the College's all-time list with 104 career points. 

Sophomore Courtney May (Oxford, MI/Belle Tire), a second-team selection, is tied for fifth in the conference and leads all defensemen with 14 assists on the season.  She has helped lead the Pioneer defense that has allowed just 1.9 goals per game, and has helped the Utica special teams kill a national-best 132-of-140 man advantages.

Clausen, the only coach in UC history, is currently 172-121-20.  He has led the Pioneers to the Conference Tournament 11 times in the program's 12-year history.  This is the second time Clausen has earned Coach of the Year status, the other was the 2007-2008 season when he led the team to a program-best 18 wins for the third straight season. 

The Pioneers are currently 16-8-2 and will take on Elmira in the ECAC West Conference semifinals on Saturday, March 2 at 7 p.m. at Plattsburgh.
