Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kissimmee, FL (3/21/13)- The Utica College softball team went 1-1 at  the Rebel Spring Games Thursday afternoon.  UC topped Augsburg College 3-2, before falling again to Anderson University, 9-5.

Game One:
UC fell down 2-0 to the Auggies in the top of the first inning, but an RBI double by senior Mallory Ingalls (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) in the second cut the lead to one.  The Pioneers were able to knot the score at two in the bottom of the sixth as freshman Cassie Smith (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) singled to score freshman Alysa Russell (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville). UC got the winning run in the bottom of the seventh off the bat of sophomore Courtney Fitzgerald (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) as she singled to score classmate Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) in walk-off fashion.

Sophomore Briona Enny (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) pitched a complete game to pick up her first win of the season.  Enny gave up just one earned run and struck out one through seven innings of work.

Game Two:
The Pioneers let a three-run lead slip away as Anderson scored eight straight runs in the final four innings for the 9-5 win.

Utica jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Russell drove in Ingalls and then Plummer singled to score Russell.  Anderson fought back as senior Megan Ream hit a leadoff homer in the second.  Ingalls added to Utica's lead in the top of the third as she hit a two-RBI double scoring Smith and Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk)

The Ravens began their comeback in the fourth scoring three runs to even the score.  Anderson continued to roll, converting on four Utica errors in the sixth to take a 9-4 lead.  UC added one run in the ninth but it was not enough as the Pioneers dropped their third game of the season.

Freshman Abby Monroe (Watertown, NY/General Brown) allowed just six hits, and struck out five in her first loss of the season. Ingalls and Russell were each 3-for-6 on the day, while Traglia was 2-for-6 with two runs scored.

The Pioneers wrap up their spring trip Friday as they take on Rowan University at 11 a.m. and McDaniel College at 1 p.m.
