Ithaca, NY (8-30-13) – The Utica College women's tennis was swept, 9-0, by Empire 8 rival Ithaca College Friday in the season-opener on the road. Freshman Erin Burchill (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Indian Hills) posted the only point for UC in her collegiate debut. The Pioneers are right back in action Saturday as they head to Houghton College for a 1 p.m. afternoon match against the Highlanders.Â
Utica then opens up a three-match homestand, in three consecutive days, beginning Saturday September, 9th. Â
UC will welcome E8 foe Stevens Institute of Technology for its season home opener at the Utica College Tennis Courts before hosting Nazareth on Sunday, September 8th followed by Oswego State on Monday, Sept 9th.
