Houghton, NY – The Utica College women's tennis team wrapped up its two-match road stretch Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 defeat against host Houghton College. The Pioneers prepare for its season-home opener next Saturday as they welcome Stevens Institute of Technology to the Utica College Tennis Courts for the first of three consecutive matches at the friendly confines. UC then will challenge Nazareth College on Sunday Sept 8th followed by Oswego State on Monday Sept 9th.
UC lost all six singles matches however freshman new addition
Erin Burchill (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Indian Hills) fought in the second set but lost 6-4 and 6-2. Burchill teamed up with senior
Rose Zaloom (Utica, NY/T.R. Proctor) in doubles competition for Utica's lone point as they won 8-3 in the first of three doubles play.
