Utica, NY (9/12/13)- The Utica College women's soccer team wraps up its road trip as it travels to Oswego State and SUNY Potsdam this weekend.  On Friday, the Pioneers will take on the Lakers in Oswego, NY at 4 p.m. before traveling to Potsdam for a 1 p.m. match up against the Bears on Sunday.

Where We Sit: The Pioneers are 1-2-1 overall and coming off a 2-2 tie to D'Youville College on Tuesday… Senior Samantha Matthews (Valley Falls, NY/Tamarac) scored off a header, assisted by classmate Sarah Southwell (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy)… The Pioneers' second goal was an own goal scored by D'Youville… Freshman Jamie Enders (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) had seven saves through 81 minutes of work, while sophomore Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) had one save in 29 minutes in net.

Leading the Way: Three different players have registered at least one goal on the season… Junior Alana Fitzpatrick (Cheshire, CT/Holy Cross) has a team-best three goals, while sophomore Krystine Alvear (Ossining, NY/Ossining) has two tallies, and Matthews has one goal and one assist.

Enders Shutting the Door:  Freshman Jamie Enders (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) has adjusted well to the college game…  Through four games played, she has allowed just five goals… On the season she has a 1.39 goals against average to go along with her .861 save percentage.

Scouting Oswego: The Lakers are 2-2 overall and coming off a 1-1 weekend at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Plattsburgh State… They downed Bard College 2-0 on Friday, before falling to St. Lawrence 2-1 on Saturday… Oswego is led by senior Nikki Liadka who has netted a team-high six goals and fired 14 shots through four games… UC is 1-1 against Oswego all-time… Last year the Pioneers defeated the Lakers 2-1… Krystine Alvear (Ossining, NY/Ossining) scored one goal and Samantha Matthews (Valley Falls, NY/Tamarac) added an assist.

Scouting Potsdam: The Bears are 1-3 and coming off a 4-2 loss to Elmira last Sunday… They are led by Summer Bader and Alexis Beach… Bader has two goals and six points, while Beach has tallied five points (two goals, one assist)… Last year, Utica defeated Potsdam 4-1… Sarah Southwell (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) had one goal and Alexandria Newton (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) had one assist on the day. 

Looking Ahead: The Pioneers return to Utica for their home opener on Wednesday as they host SUNY IT… Game time is set for 4 p.m.
