Elmira, NY (9-14-13) – The Utica College women's tennis team lost its fifth straight match Saturday as Empire 8 rival Elmira College defeated UC 9-0 at the Murray Athletic Complex in Elmira, NY. UC falls to 0-5 overall including a 0-4 mark in conference play. The Pioneers are right back on the court Sunday as they host Bard College in hopes of their first win of 2013. EC improved to 2-1 overall and in the league with the victory.

Rose Zaloom (Utica, NY/T.R. Proctor) and freshman
Erin Burchill (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Indian Hills) partnered up in doubles competition and battled the Soaring Eagles No. 1 and No. 2 but fell short, 8-5. Zaloom posted one point in each set of singles play while Burchill lost 6-0 and 6-1.
